I could rhyme off an inventory of sites that had no contact info. Instead, I would like to address the less plain and the overlooked : site aesthetics. These are signifiers of “old school” design, when the Net was younger. Today, a certain design standard is anticipated. What a lot of firms fail to appreciate is this : the site visitor isn’t a passive spectator, but an active user of the site, forming views about the site and the company it represents. This encompasses the textual and visible cues the company supplies the potential customer.
It’s not possible to make an appeal to each visitor’s individual taste, but it is feasible to make a site that reflects the organization’s image and elicits a positive reply from spectators. Companies have to grasp their demographic and appeal to that visible sensibility.
